For the purpose of entering the Paint4Freedom National Art Competition, the Budding Amateur Artist Classification refers to the Artist’s age and current level of artistic development in the Brushed Painting Art Category.
The Budding Amateur Artist Classification also includes artists who consider themselves as Hobbyist Artists.
As a Budding Amateur Artist, the artist must be fifteen (15) to eighteen (18) years of age when entering the Local Community Paint4Freedom Art Competition.
As an Budding Amateur Artist, the Artist must have no recognition by art critics, not had inclusion within exhibitions above Amateur exhibitions, had no critical reviews, no commissions, no grant awards nor residencies or fellowships.
As an Budding Amateur Artists, the Artist may or may not be currently selling or have sold their painted artworks for a monetary price or exchanged goods to the value of a monetary price.
The Artist must not have an ABN or be registered for GST. An ABN and/or GST registration would be seen as an Artist who is now a Professional Artist and no longer an Amateur Artist.
Budding Amateur Artists may be enrolled in Undergraduate, Graduate or Postgraduate Art Degree programs or Art Certificate programs.
